| Community-based conservation of forests is participatory in nature and takes a more holistic, integrative approach to the problems facing forest-dependent communities. NTFP-EP applies this holistic approach as opposed to the mainstream top-down approaches which tend to be designed with very specific objectives, sometimes conflicting with the interests of the community NTFP-EP’s projects are holistic, integrated and participatory; with goals and objectives that are, defined by the very people who are faced with the consequences of poverty and ecological degradation. |
